  • Like terms
    Terms that differ only in the factors before the respective variable are called like terms.

    Examples:
    2x ; -0.5x ; 13x or
    5x² ; -12x² ; 1.7x²

    Like terms can be added and subtracted.
       -2x² + 7x²
     = 5x²    		   3x - 7x - 5 + 13
     = -4x + 8
